SENTRI Pass Application is not affiliated with the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) or the Transportation Security Administration.
SENTRI lets low-risk travelers to speed across the border. Members can use the priority lanes and kiosks. The kiosks are located at the southern land border between Mexico and the USA.
This is not a program you can join instantly. Every applicant must fill out a SENTRI application form. Even child applicants must have their own application.
When Customs and Border Protection receive your application they send it to a variety of US government agencies. Those agencies include US law enforcement and US immigration. Their databases are checked for previous violations. Applicants who pass the background and security checks and a face-to-face interview are deemed low-risk trusted travelers and may join the program.
This stringent checking means that the United States can keep borders safe.
The TSA PRECHECK trademark is owned by DHS. Use of DHS-owned trademarks does not imply endorsement by DHS, or the Transportation Security Administration.
Once you’re approved for the program, You can start using your membership number known as a PASSID when you book your flights. The PASSID number signifies to security staff that you can expedite security at participating U.S. airports using the TSA priority lanes.
This means that as a Trusted Traveler there’s no waiting in long lines at security checks and you won’t have to take off your coat or jacket or get out your laptop and clear bag with all of your liquid items in.
